The Velvet Lady started the way most good things do — in a home kitchen, with a mixer, a family recipe box, and a stubborn refusal to use anything out of a box. Every cake we bake still starts the same way: real butter, real eggs, real sugar, measured and mixed by hand.
The name "Velvet Lady" came from the cake that started it all — a red velvet, baked from a recipe passed down through the family, the one people kept asking us to make again and again until it turned into something more than a hobby.
Today we bake out of Eatonville, Florida, serving coffee and homemade cupcakes, but the philosophy hasn't changed a bit. Every order is scratch-made and made to order, decorated by hand, for a real celebration — never a shortcut, never a mix.
